I still don't see the point in buying the new consoles, with the exception of the gimmicky Wii. What do they get us? Better graphics (which are cool, but matter far less in games than in movies), online play (at a monthly cost? Yea right, suckers! PC games don't have subscription costs because PC users are empowered and console users are at the mercy of their console's restrictions). And at what cost? A lot. Especially if you want to mod it.
No thanks. I'll stick with my PS2. With a modded ps2, you can even throw together a custom made Guitar Hero consisteing of the downloadable content (that you can't normally get on a ps2) and play it. So the benefits of these new consoles STILL trickle down to the people who use old consoles.
